Morals are the way individuals behave, act, and relate to others. Morals can reflect a person’s behavior and heart, whether good or bad.
While in Islam, morals are an aspect that determines how much a Muslim believes in Allah SWT.
Its existence is in the human soul and becomes part of a person. Apart from that, the person with the most noble morals is the Messenger of Allah. This is stated in Surah Al Ahzab verse 21:
“Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example to follow for anyone who hopes for (the mercy of) Allah and (the coming of) the Last Day and remembers Allah much.”
Every Muslim who believes definitely wants to be a person with noble morals like the morals of the Messenger of Allah.
Well, you can understand some of the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah about morals, which can be applied in everyday life.
Here are nine hadiths about morals that Muslims should know, quoted from the Fiqihmuslim and Sanctri pages.
كَانَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحْسَنَ النَّاسِ خُلُقاً
“Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam is a person with the best character.” (HR. Bukhari, Muslim)
Hadith about Morality 2
“There is nothing heavier in the scales of a believer on the Day of Judgment than good morals. Indeed, God is very angry with a vile and evil person.” (HR. Tirmidhi)
Hadith about Morality 3
“Oh God! I seek refuge in You from various evils of morals, deeds and lust.” (HR. Tirmidhi)
Hadith about Morality 4
إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ لَيُدْرِكُ بِحُسْنِ خُلُقِهِ دَرَجَةَ الصَّائِمِ الْقَائِمِ
“Indeed, a believer will gain the position of an expert in fasting and prayer with his good character.” (HR. Abu Daud)
Hadith about Morality 5
إِنَّ اللهَ كَرِيْمٌ يُحِبُّ الْكَرَمَ وَمَعَالِيَ اْلأَخْلاَقِ وَيُبْغِضُ سِفْسَافَهَا
“Indeed, God is Most Merciful and loves generosity and noble morals and hates low/despicable morals.” (HR. Al Hakim)
Hadith about Morality 6
“The believer whose faith is most perfect is the one who has the best morals. The best among you is the one who has the best morals towards his partner.” (HR. Tirmidhi)
Hadith about Morality 7
كاَنَ خُلُقُهُ الْقُرْآنَ
“The character of the Messenger of Allah is the Qur’an.” (HR. Muslim)
Hadith about Morality 8
إنَّ مِنْ خِيَارِكُمْ أَحْسَنَكُمْ أَخْلاَقًا
“Indeed the best among you is the best in character.” (HR. Ahmad)
Hadith about Morality 9
“Indeed, every religion has morals, and Islamic morals are shame.” (HR. Ibnu Majah)
